Kolb Holds Leads Heading Into Final Round

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore Kim Kolb (Sioux Falls, SD./O'Gorman) fired rounds of 76 and 73 Monday and holds a one stroke lead heading into the final round of the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Okla.
The Lady Raiders are in second place overall with one round to play at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course. The final round will tee off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Tech sophomore Megan Hull (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) is tied in eighth place after shooting rounds of 80 and 75, while junior Jackie Ey (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill) is tied in 20th place with rounds of 81 and 79. Freshman Hazel Tan (Sarasota, Fla./Bradenton Academy) and Sheila Mendez (El Paso, Texas/Franklin) are tied in 53rd and 65th place.
Oklahoma blistered the field on its home course and leads Tech by 21 strokes. The Sooners shot 18 better than the field in the first round to secure its cushion. Arkansas-Little Rock and a pair of Big 12 teams, Texas A&M and Baylor, comprise third through fifth, respectively, while UTEP, Kansas, Kansas State, Oral Roberts and North Texas round out the top 10.
Closing out the field of 16 are Sam Houston State, Oklahoma City, SMU, Wichita State, Lamar and Arkansas State.
