Red Raider Cross Country Solid at Pre-Nationals

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -Texas Tech cross country raced at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind., this morning. This meet was a preview of the NCAA Nationals meet that will be held in November. The No. 27 women's squad came out with a 21st-place finish and the men earned a 33rd- place finish.
Leading the way for the women was senior Bridget Tidwell, whose time of 21:55.4, was good for a 70th-place finish overall. Seniors Brionne Yosten and Stefanie Calhoun clocked in with times of 21:58.4 and 21:59, respectively. Junior Abby Schubert earned a 116th-place finish, as she registered a time of 22:19.1. Senior Kelly Blikre ran a 23:25 and finished 205th. Sophomore Anna Hagood rounded out the Red Raiders with her finish in 216th-place and her time of 23:22.9.
Freshman Haron Lagat led the way for the men with a time of 24:30.7 and a 23rd-place finish overall. Lagat has been Tech's top male performer for the past three weeks. Junior Benson Cheserek placed 127th and registered a time of 25:33. Senior Rob Kalescky placed 218th and clocked a time of 26:42.1. Sophomore Nick Eyhorn placed 227th with his time of 27:00.5. Senior Adam Lawless and Freshman Justin Kutch rounded out the Red Raiders with their times of 27:28 and 27:37.5, respectively.
