Lady Raider Softball Finished Day Two of Mardi Gras Classic

LAFAYETTE, La. - Junior outfielder Kelly Rhyne had two hits, including her first home run of the season, but Texas Tech softball fell to Stephen F. Austin 4-1 on Saturday night at the Mardi Gras Classic in Lafayette, La.
The Lady Jacks got in the board in the opening frame when they lead the first inning off with a double and scored on a double two batters later. Tech starter Julie Hauck (1-3) would pitch a complete game, her third of the year, yielding only two earned runs while striking out two batters.
Kelly Rhyne would tie the game up in the bottom of the second when she lead the inning off with her first home run of the year, blasting a pitch over the wall in left center field.
Stephen F. Austin would recapture the lead in the top of fifth inning. A leadoff walk would come back to hunt the Lady Raiders as she came around to score after a single a batter later.
The Lady Jacks would put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh when they scored two runs to push their lead to 4-1.
The Lady Raiders will conclude play at the Mardi Gras Classic tomorrow when they take on Southeastern Louisiana at 12:15 p.m.
