Women's Golf Finishes Ninth At The NCAA Central Regional

Juniors Megan Hull and Sheila Mendez lead the way shooting 231 as the No.44-Texas Tech women's golf team finishes ninth at the NCAA Central Regional in Parrish, Florida. The team shot 306-307-313-926, and was led by Hull and Mendez who both finished tied for 23rd.

Mendez and Hull shot 77-77-77-231 and 78-75-78-231 respectively, as junior Kim Kolb closely followed her Tech teammates shooting 71-83-80-234, tying for 34th. Senior Jackie Ey closed out the last of Tech's competitors shooting 80-80-83-243, tying for 52nd.

Tech finishes behind a talented field where Louisiana State took the tournament title, 903, followed by No.16 Michigan State, 906, Kansas State, 912, TCU, 915, and No.24 Arkansas, 921, who round out the top five.

Tech will be back in action at the Texas A&M "Mo"morial March 1, 2004 in Houston, Texas. The team will be looking to continue on one of its best seasons where the team has finished in the top 10 in four out of it's five tournaments and are averaging 306 per round.
