Tucker Leads Tech Softball to Win Over New Mexico

LUBBOCK, Texas - Keely Tucker threw seven inning of shutout softball and Elyssa Sigala hit a pair of doubles to propel Texas Tech softball to a 3-0 win over Columbia in game four of the Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Classic at Rocky Johnson Field.
The Lady Raiders (9-15) got on the board early in the game in the bottom of the first inning. During the frame, Natalie Kula singled up the middle and was followed by Elyssa Sigala who doubled to right center field to plate Kula and give Tech a 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lady Raiders would add a pair of insurance runs. Sigala led off the inning with a double and scored a play later when a Natalie Enderlin single was mishandled by the center fielder. Britney Stolle followed with a double to put runners at second and third with one out. Andrea Joachims followed with a sacrifice fly to drive in Enderlin and push the lead to 3-0.
Tech starter Keely Tucker (4-5) pitched her second complete game shutout of the season, limiting the Lions to only three hits while striking out five batters.
The Mutual of Omaha Lady Raider Classic will continue today with New Mexico and Columbia playing at 4 p.m. and Texas Tech and New Mexico squaring off at 6 p.m. The tournament will conclude on Sunday when Texas Tech plays Columbia at 10 a.m. and New Mexico at 12 p.m.
