Lubbock, TX - Red Raider senior Mikey Marshall and his family will be honored with a reception in his hometown of Tulia from 4-6 p.m. this Friday, April 23, in the THS school cafeteria. Mayor Boyd Vaughn and County Judge Harold Keeter have proclaimed Friday as "Mikey Marshall Day in Tulia."
Sam Sadler, one of the reception organizers, said "Our entire community is proud of Mikey and all of his accomplishments on the basketball court, but we are especially proud of him because he is a fine young man and a great ambassador for our community and role model for our kids."
During his career, Mikey played in 120 games and started forty contests as a Red Raider. In his senior season, Mikey started 11 games and averaged 5.1 points per game. He registered a career-high 23 points against Colorado in this season's Big 12 Tournament. He was 8-of-9 from the field, shot 4-of-5 from beyond the three-point line, and made 3-of-4 free throw attempts.
