Red Raider Basketball on the Road to Missouri

LUBBOCK, Texas -The Texas Tech Red Raiders have their fourth road game of the season and their fourth conference game on Wednesday as they meet the Missouri Tigers in Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. The tip-off will be at 7:00 p.m.
The game will be televised on the Texas Tech Television Network. Dan McLaughlin will call the play-by-play. Norm Stewart will provide the color analysis. The game will air in the Metroplex on KFWD-TV (Channel 52) and the Lubbock area on the UPN channel.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action for Texas Tech and Andy Hipsher will provide the analysis on KKAM (1340 AM), the flagship station for the Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders earned their second conference victory of the season with a 70-56 win over Texas A&M on Saturday with 15,048 fans in attendance. The win upped the Raider record to 10-4 for the season and 2-1 in conference play.
Ronald Ross led all scorers with 27 points. Martin Zeno chipped in 18 points and Darryl Dora added 11 points. The Raiders held a ten point lead (31-21) at halftime. The Aggies were led by Antoine Wright's 18 points. Joseph Jones added 13 points.
Texas Tech shot 47.1 percent from the field on 24-of-51 shots, including 3-of-10 attempts from beyond the three-point line. The Raiders sank 19-of-25 free throw attempts (76.0%). Texas A&M shot 39.6 percent (21-of-53) and they were 2-of-13 from beyond the arc (15.4%). The Aggies made 12-of-18 free throw attempts.
The Red Raiders have five players who are averaging in double-figures for the season. Ronald Ross leads the squad with 15.1 points per game. Jarrius Jackson follows with 13.4 points per game. Martin Zeno averages 12.8 points per game. Devonne Giles is next with 11.7 points per game. Curtis Marshall rounds out the group with 11.0 points per game.
With 842 career victories over 39 seasons, Coach Bob Knight will be on the sidelines for his 1,169 game with the match-up against Missouri. He is only the fourth coach to amass 800 wins in his career. Jim Phelan retired with 830 wins, the late Adolph Rupp won 876, and Dean Smith leads everyone with 879 career wins.
The Tigers are 9-7 for the season. They completed their non-conference season with eight wins and five losses. They knocked off Gonzaga by two points (63-61) on December 30. The Tigers opened the conference season with a win over Iowa State (62-59) before dropping their next two road games. They fell at Oklahoma State (78-68) on January 11 and lost at Kansas State (74-54) on January 15.
Linas Kleiza leads his team in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Jason Conley follows with 10.6 points per game and Thomas Gardner adds 9.2 points per game. The Tigers average 64.6 points per game and have held their opponents to 64.1 points per game.
Overall, Missouri leads the series 7-5. They have a 4-1 margin when the teams have played in Columbia and a 2-0 edge on neutral courts. Texas Tech leads 4-1 when the teams have played in Lubbock. Last season, the teams met in Lubbock as the Raiders topped the Tigers 87-76.
