LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team got off to a good start on their first road match of the season in Abilene this afternoon. The Red Raiders defeated Hardin Simmons, 5-1.
In singles action, Jakob Paulsen knocked off David Wu, 6-1, 6-1, and Esat Tanik defeated Chris Palmatier, 6-0, 6-1. Dimitrio Martinez beat Roy Lehman, 6-0, 6-2, and Teddy DiBlasi defeated Wes Kidd, 6-4, 6-0. Chris Ramsey won his match against Tanner Reed, 4-6, 7-6, 10-8, and Ryan Vogl was defeated by Wade Morgan, 7-6, 7-5.
The Red Raiders will hit the courts again tomorrow in Abilene. They will face Oral Roberts at 9 a.m. and Centenary College at 2 p.m. Tech will conclude the weekend with a match against Abilene Christian at noon on Sat., Feb. 12.
