Men's Tennis Team Remains Undefeated

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team came out on top of both of their matches today. The Red Raiders defeated Oral Roberts, 7-0 and Centenary College, 5-1.
In doubles action for the match against Oral Roberts, Bojan Szumanski and Michael Innerebner defeated Wessel Kemp and Adam Ehrlich, 8-3. Esat Tanik and Adrian Prpic teamed up to defeat Clemons Geercken and Craig Dunne, 8-4. Ryan Vogl and Teddy DiBlasi fell to Cuan Farquharson and Tyrone Hill, 8-6.
In singles action, Jakob Paulsen defeated Hill, 6-2, 6-4 and Szumanski defeated Kemp, 6-0, 6-1. Tanik came out on top against Geercken, 6-3, 6-1 and Innerebner also came out on top against Dunne, 6-2, 6-2. Prpic beat Farquharson, 6-2, 7-6 and Dimitrio Martinez beat Aaron Swan, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles action for the match against Centenary College, Szumanski and Innerebner defeated Brian Roberts and Josh Pinto, 8-1. Prpic and Martinez teamed up to beat Russ Patrick and Arthur Okura, 8-0. Centenary College called a default in the last doubles match against DiBlasi and Vogl.
In singles action, Szumanski defeated Roberts, 6-0, 6-0 and Prpic defeated Patrick, 6-1, 6-1. DiBlasi beat Pinto, 6-4, 6-0 and Chris Ramsey fell to Okura, 3-6, 7-5, 10-8. Martinez came out on top against Chris Champion, 0-0, 0-0. The number six position was a default.
"I think our guys played very well," said assistant coach Toby Hansson. "We did what we had to do to take care of business on the courts today."
The Red Raiders will conclude the weekend with a match against Abilene Christian at noon on Sat., Feb. 12.
