Men's Tennis Jumps to No. 10 in ITA Rankings

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team moved to No. 10 in the country in the latest ITA Division I men's tennis rankings. The Red Raiders cracked the top 10 for the first time in school history.
The Red Raiders (18-1 overall, 0-1 Big 12) moved two spots after being ranked No. 12 in last week's rankings. The rankings are determined by the ITA point-per-match computer formula.
This season Tech has beaten three teams which are ranked in the top 20 in this week's poll: No. 13 Washington, No. 19 Clemson and No. 20 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Texas Tech is one of two Big 12 teams ranked in the top 10 as Baylor is No. 1 in the country.
The Red Raiders will face No. 59 Oklahoma tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center before heading to Austin, Texas, to take on the No. 27 Longhorns Fri., April 8, for a 1 p.m. contest. Tech will play at No. 15 Texas A&M Sat., April 9, at 6 p.m. The match at Texas A&M will be televised by Cox Sports Television (CST) on a tape delayed status and will air on Wed., April 20, at 4 p.m.
