Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season with Conference Win

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 10 Texas Tech men's tennis team defeated No. 61 Colorado, 6-1, this afternoon in Boulder, Colo. The Red Raiders conclude their regular season at 23-2 and 5-2 for conference.
In singles action, Radek Nijaki stood out at number one against Jan Zelezny, 6-3, 6-4. Jakob Paulsen beat Peter Bjork at number three, 6-3, 6-7 (5), 7-5, while in the fourth slot, Esat Tanik came out on top against Marcos Digliodo, 6-3, 6-1. Michael Innerebner won at number five against Marek Dvorak, 6-4, 6-4, while Chad Tsuda fell to Adrian Prpic, 6-3, 6-4.
The Red Raiders got an early lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. Nijaki and Szumanski defeated Digliodo and Tsuda at number one, 8-1, while Tanik and Prpic teamed up to defeat Bjork and Bundalo, 8-6, in the second slot.
"I am so proud of this team," said head coach Tim Siegel. "To win every conference match on the road this season shows the character of our team. I can't say enough about our three seniors that have stepped up. We have finished tied at second in the Big 12. We are ready for the Big 12 Tournament."
The Red Raiders will head to Austin, Texas for the Big 12 Tournament, Thurs., April 28.
