LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 57 Texas Tech women's tennis team fell to No. 15 Baylor in Waco, Texas, this evening. The Lady Raiders are now 6-9 and 4-4 in conference play.
In singles action, Cigdem Duru fell to No. 24 Zuzana Zemenova, 7-5, 6-2, and at postion two, Janet Durham lost to Carolin Walter, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. In the third slot, Daniela Covello defeated Tara Browning, 7-6(1), 6-0, and Lakann Wagley dropped to Klara Zrustova at number four, 6-3, 6-3. In the fifth position, Zuzana Krchnakova defeated Erin Hunter, 6-3, 6-1. In the last slot, Iva Mihaylova came out on top against Katja Kovacic, 6-0, 6-0.
The Lady Raiders dropped all three of their doubles matches against the Lady Bears. At number one, No. 26 Wagley and Browning fell to Walter and Zemenova. Covello and Korsaw teamed up at number two to defeat Duru and Durham, 8-6. In position three, Krchnakova and Zrustova handled Kovacic and Hunter, 8-3.
Texas Tech will head to College Station, Texas, on Saturday, April 9, to face No. 37 Texas A&M at 11 a.m. The match at Texas A&M will be televised by Cox Sports Television (CST) on a tape delayed status.
