Dowdy Concludes Play at the USGA Public Links

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech freshman golfer Megan Dowdy completed play at the 25th U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship on Tuesday at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo. The Leander, Texas, native fired a second-round 77 to finish the tournament with a two-round total of 161, falling short of advancing to Wednesday's match-play format.
The top 64 scores at the end of Tuesday's round advance to the match play portion of the tournament, which begins on Wednesday and concludes with Saturday's final round.
Dowdy, who redshirted last season for the Red Raiders, qualified for the event earning a third-place tie at the National Women's Public Link Championship Qualifier in Garland, Texas, on July 10. In the one-round event, Dowdy native shot a 77 to become one of four top golfers to advance the championships.
