Women's Golf Completes First Day at Dick McGuire Invitational

The Lady Raiders sit in 17th place as a team heading into Tuesday's second round at the
Senior Ashley Slavich and sophomore Valerie Tan each fired first round scores of 77 to pace the Lady Raider contingency at the tournament, while junior Marla Troester turned in Tech's third lowest total of the day with a round total of 79. Freshman Urika van Nieker and junior Christine Kovalcik both compiled scores of 81 in their first tournament of the year.
In addition, freshman Brynn Anderson competed in the event as an individual and fired a six over par 79 in the first round.
Texas Tech women's golf is back in action at the Dick McGuire Invitational on Tuesday as the field turns to second round action.
