
Tech Takes on Kansas State in Wednesday Match

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's season will move on as the Red Raiders travel to Manhattan, Kan., to face the Wildcats for the first time this season. Tech is coming off of a victory against Iowa State that moved them to 10-8 overall and 3-6 in conference play. The Wildcats will be looking for their first conference victory as they are 8-11 overall and 0-9 in the Big 12.
The Red Raiders have surged forward since picking up their first conference victory against the Kansas Jayhawks, as they have gone 3-2 since. The latest Tech victory came against Iowa State on Saturday at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
The Red and Black found themselves down 2-1 after three games, but the team was determined to not lose their second-straight five-game match at home. Tech stormed out to capture the fourth game against the Cyclones with their best hitting of the night at .311 percent. With a victory on the line, the Red Raiders proved to want it more as they took the deciding match by a score of 17-15.
Kansas State is coming off of a five-game loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, whom defeated Tech in five on Wednesday, October 11. The Sooners took the victory against the Wildcats in games of 27-30, 30-21, 21-30, 30-27, 15-8. Three Wildcats tallied double-digit kills, with Megan Kroeker leading with 17. Megan Farr added 15, while Angie Lastra notched 14. Lastra completed a double-double with 12 digs. Four other Wildcats recorded double-digit digs with Lauren Rosenthal leading the way with 17.
Following the match against Kansas State, Texas Tech will travel to Colorado to face the Buffs for the second time this season. The Red Raiders were defeated 3-0 in Lubbock, Texas, on Sept. 16th in the first match-up between the two squads.
