
Red Raiders Drop Home Match Against Longhorns

LUBBOCK, Texas - After taking game one from the No. 8 Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech dropped the next three to lose 3-1 at the United Spirit Arena. The Red Raiders were outplayed by the Longhorns as Texas won by scores of 29-31, 30-21, 30-19, 30-21. Tech now falls to 10-11 overall and 3-9 in Big 12 play, while Texas improves to 14-5 overall, 9-3 Big 12.
Both Lone Star State teams had low hitting percentages on the night with the Red Raiders accumulating a .082 percent (53 kills, 39 errors, 171 attempts), and victor Texas had .195 percent with 63 kills and 31 errors on 164 total attempts.
Two Red Raiders finished in double-digit kills with Philister Sang notching 18 and Amy Charlebois adding 13. Charlebois tallied her 13 kills with only four errors on 20 total attempts to hit .450 on the night. Holly Hicks was the primary setter on the night with 34 assists. Jenn Harrell led a strong defensive effort with 21 digs, while Charlebois knocked down seven blocks (two solo, five assisted).
