Red Raiders Host Tigers On Saturday

The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the University of Missouri Tigers on Saturday with the game beginning at 12:47 PM on ESPN-Regional.
Bob Carpenter will call the play-by-play. Reid Gettys will provide the game analysis.
John Harris will provide the courtside action along with Andy Hipsher as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 AM / KQBR 99.5 FM).
Texas Tech and Missouri are meeting for the 14th time since the series began on December 5, 1955. Missouri leads the series by one game, 7-6. Texas Tech leads the series in Lubbock 4-1 while Missouri holds a 4-2 lead in Columbia and a 2-0 margin on neutral courts.
The Red Raiders have won the last two games. Last season, the Raiders won in Columbia, 78-62. On March 3, 2004, Texas Tech won at the United Spirit Arena, 87-76.
The Red Raiders are 11-10 for the 2005-2006 season and 3-4 in Big 12 play after their road loss to Kansas on January 30.
Jarrius Jackson led Tech in scoring with 17 points. Jay was 7-of-19 from the field, 1-of-3 from beyond the three-point line, and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Teammate Dior Lowhorn added 12 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
Texas Tech has two players averaging double figures for the season with Jarrius Jackson averaging 19.3 points per game and Martin Zeno scoring 16.1 points per game. After twenty-one games, the Raiders are averaging 69.8 points per game while their opponents are scoring 69.0 points per game.
The Tigers are 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play for the 2005-2006 season. Missouri opened conference play with wins over OSU (69-61) and at OU 71-69) before losing to Colorado (74-71). They stopped Kansas in overtime (89-86) before losing their next three games: at KSU (79-64), ISU (82-58), and at Nebraska (65-52). In their last outing, Missouri lost to Texas in Columbia, 66-53.
Missouri has three players averaging double figures in Thomas Gardner (20.9 ppg), Jimmy McKinney (12.2 ppg), and Marshall Brown (10.4 ppg). The Tigers are scoring 68.4 ppg and allowing their opponents 68.8 ppg.
The Red Raiders continue Big 12 Conference play on Monday evening at the United Spirit Arena against the Texas Longhorns. The game will begin at 8:05 PM on ESPN's "Big Monday" telecast.
Coach Bob Knight (Ohio State, 1962) enters his fifth season at the helm of the Raider program and has notched four consecutive 20+ wins in Lubbock. In 39 seasons of coaching, he has taken his teams to post-season play 36 times. Coach Knight is third among all coaches on the all-time career wins list with 865 victories. He is the youngest of the four coaches (Dean Smith-879, Adolph Rupp-876, Bob Knight-865, and Jim Phelan-830) and the only active coach to reach that remarkable plateau of 800 career victories.
