Lubbock, Texas - No. 54 Texas Tech women's tennis topped Wyoming, 4-0, in Honolulu, Hawai'i. The Lady Raiders, with a record of 9-4, will face Hawai'i at 7 p.m., Sat., March 18.
The match began with singles play and that was all that would be necessary to find a winner. Tech took four of the six singles matches as two of the matches also went unfinished.
Tara Browning cruised at the No. 1 position, defeating Karolina Rowinski, 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2, Cigdem Duru and Patricia Chien went unfinished. Janet Durham found a victory at No. 3, as she topped Jamie Nelson, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. At No. 4, Lakann Wagley topped Andrea House, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 5, Samantha van der Drift defeated Amy Senko, 6-2, 6-2. Anne Sophie Fankam and Michelle Brown went unfinished playing at No. 6.
Next up for the Lady Raiders will be a match against Hawai'i, Sat., March 18, in Honolulu.
