Tonight's game marked the 30th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Kansas. The Jayhawks have now won two straight over the Red Raiders dating back to the 2005 season. Tech leads the all-time series 21-9.
Miles Morgan suffered his second straight loss after giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and issued three walks. Morgan topped out at 96 mph (final pitch of his first out in the bottom of the first) according to the radar gun on Kansas scoreboard.
Kyle Martin picked up his sixth multiple-hit game of the sesaon as he notched hits in his first two at-bats of the game.
Freshman left fielder Roger Kieschnick had a nine-game hit streak snapped tonight as he finished the evening 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
The Texas Tech defense committed three errors on the evening and is the sixth three-error game of the year and the fourth in the last six games. Defensively, the Red Raiders have a committed 14 errors in the last six games for a fielding percentage of .944. Tech's overall fielding percentage fell to .962 after tonight's game.
