CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Three Texas Tech women's golfers were honored by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) on the annual All-American Scholar Team. Graduated senior Ashley Slavich, junior Megan Dowdy and sophomore Ulrika Van Niekerk were all selected for the Division I team.
A total of 371 Division I, II and III student-athletes were named to this year's squad. To earn the honor, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least 50 percent of the regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
With three student-athletes listed on this year's team, Texas Tech tied with the second most of any Big 12 school. Missouri had four golfers honored, while Baylor and Oklahoma also had three selected. A total of 25 Big 12 student-athletes received the honor.
