SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Texas Tech newcomer Will Griffin recently took the title at the Valero Texas Open Junior Shootout on his home course. The tournament marks Griffin's final stop with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and earns him AJGA All-American status.
Griffin went into the final round with a one-stroke lead on Mark Johnson of Tulsa, Okla.. After shooting even-par 35 on the front nine and falling two strokes behind Johnson, Griffin fired two birdies on the final four holes to regain the lead and take the title.
