Tech Sits in Fourth at International Collegiate

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland - In the first tournament of the season, the Texas Tech men's golf squad is currently in fourth place at the International Collegiate. The team had rounds of 292-285--577 to end the first day of competition ahead of six squads on the Torrance Golf Course in St. Andrews, Scotland.
Two Tech individuals are in the top 10 after the first two rounds. Senior Oscar Floren leads the Red Raiders firing rounds of 70-69--139, 5-under par. Jake Younan-Wise sits in 10th place shooting 75-68--143 (+1).
Raider Garrett Marrell is in 23rd place with scores of 75-72--147. In 33rd place is newcomer Will Griffin, who shot rounds of 73-76--149. The final team member competing is Brandon Lakatta who sits in 55th place after shooting 74-81--155. Competing as an individual is Jeremy Martin, who is currently 14th with a first-day showing of 71-74--145.
Leading the competition is North Carolina with a two-round total of 568, 8-under par. Tech is one shot behind third-place Wake Forest, who finished the day with scores of 287-289--576. Individually leading is Stirling University's Gordan Yates, who finished with 67-68--135 (-9) on the day.
