Tech to Tangle with Texas
The Red Raiders will travel to Austin, Texas for a 6:30 p.m. showdown with No. 3 Texas Wednesday. It will be Tech's only match of the week before finishing off the season next week against Kansas and Nebraska.

Texas Tech stood toe-to-toe with a strong Missouri squad Saturday night, but the Tigers edged by the Red Raiders 3-0 (30-28, 30-26 and 30-26) in a close battle in the United Spirit Arena.
Three Red Raiders knocked down double-digit kills on the night, led by Amy Gandy and Michelle Flores' 13 apiece. Gandy also added seven digs and a block on the evening. Freshman Caroline Courtney recorded 11 kills, while Alicia Ostmeyer added five to go with her team-high four blocks. Setter Kourtney Dunnam spread the Tech attack with a career-best 41 assists. Jenn Harrell led the Red Raider defense with a match-best 17 digs.
Last Longhorn Showdown
Texas Tech volleyball stood toe-to-toe with No. 7 Texas for close to half the match before falling 3-1 (17-30, 30-26, 20-30 and 17-30). The Red Raiders were just the third team at that time to push the Longhorns to more than three games.
Can You Dig it?
Sophomore libero Jenn Harrell has recorded double-digit digs in 23 of the Red Raiders' 26 matches this season. She has a total of 366 on the season. With just nine more, she will have the 15th most digs for a single season in school history. With 25 more, she will be tenth.
Tech vs. Texas
Wednesday will be 75th meeting between the two in-state squads. Texas has won 63 of them, including the last 13 contests.
Scouting the Longhorns
Coach Jerritt Elliott is in his ninth season overall and seventh at the helm of UT. Coming into this week, he has a career record of 199-68 and a 149-57 record with the Longhorns.
UT is ranked No. 3 nationally and boasts a 20-3, 15-1 mark on the season. Its only losses have come at the hands of No. 1 Penn State and No. 2 Nebraska. The Longhorns rank first in the conference in hitting percentage at .345 and second in kills, assists and opponent hitting percentage.
Sophomore outside hitter Destinee Hooker is second in the Big 12 with a team-high 4.74 kills per game. Freshman Juliann Faucette is right behind at 4.72 kpg. Senior middle blocker leads the conference with a .444 hitting clip. Defensively, Lauren Paolini leads the squad in blocks at 1.32 bpg, good for fifth in the conference.
