Red Raiders Complete Round One in Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - The Texas Tech women's golf team finished the first 18-holes of play at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic with a score of 315. The Red Raiders are currently sitting in 14th place in a tough field of 16.
Ulrika Van Niekerk leads all Tech members with a first-round score of 76 and is sitting in 33rd place. One shot back from van Niekerk is Gloriana Soto in 45th place with a 5-over 77. Freshman Rosalyn Kim shot an 8-over 80 in the first round; she is currently in 63rd place. Teammates Megan Dowdy and Melissa Fahey both finished with a 10-over 82 through 18 holes. Both are currently tied for 72nd place.
Leading the Lady Puerto Rico Classic is TCU as they finished after carding a 1-over 289. TCU's Valentine Derrey is atop the individual leaderboard with a 5-under 67.
