- Sophomore right fielder Roger Kieschnick is now just one game away from tying his career long hit streak of 13 games. The Rockwall native went 5-for-5 today and became the first Red Raider in known history to collect five multiple base hits in a single game. The last five-hit game by a Tech player was Cameron Blair against Northern Illinois on Feb. 12, 2005.
- Texas Tech has now won nine of its last 10 games and extended its win streak in Albuquerque to four straight.
- Kyle Martin plated the game winning runs on his team-leading sixth home run of the season in the top of the eighth inning. He leads the squad with 21 RBI.
