The fifth-seed Texas Tech Red Raiders (20-11, 9-7) face the twelfth-seed Colorado Buffaloes (7-19, 3-13) in a 2:00 PM tip-off on Thursday at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Championship. The winning team will advance to play fourth-seed Kansas State at 2 PM on Friday.

Texas Tech and Colorado are meeting for the second time this season. Overall, Colorado holds a 16-9 lead in the series which began on December 5, 1959. Colorado has a 10-2 edge when the teams have played in Boulder. Each team has won a neutral site game. The Red Raiders lost in Boulder last season (66-64) on February 11.
With Texas Tech's 95-74 home win on February 17, the Red Raiders have now won six games at home to Colorado's five wins in Lubbock. Tech outscored the Buffaloes 41-30 in the first half and 54-44 in the second half. Jarrius Jackson led both teams with 28 points. Junior Martin Zeno scored 24 points with Charlie Burgess dropping in 16 points. Alan Voskuil added 10 points.
The Red Raiders feature two players averaging double-figures for the 2006-2007 season. Jarrius Jackson's 20.2 points per game is second in the Big 12 Conference. Martin Zeno's 16.5 points per game ranks ninth in the conference.
Earlier this week, Jarrius Jackson and Martin Zeno earned Big 12 basketball postseason awards. Jarrius was selected to the All-Big 12 First Team for the second consecutive season. Martin, All-Big 12 Honorable Mention last season, was selected to the All-Big 12 Third Team. The official All-Big 12 awards are selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
With Jay's back-to-back First Team honors, Texas Tech has had a player on the All-Big 12 First Team for each of the last six seasons. Andre Emmett earned first team honors in 2001-02, 2002-03, and 2003-04. Ronald Ross was voted to the All-Big 12 First Team in 2004-05.
For each Red Raider game this season, Steve Dale will call the courtside action along with Ted Chidester as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network (KKAM 1340 AM and KQBR 99.5 FM).
