Lady Raiders Close Season Against Iowa State

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team will wrap up their regular season at the McLeod Tennis Center on Sun., April 22, as they host the Iowa State Cyclones at 10 a.m.
Last time out for the Raiders they hit the road for ranked Big 12 powerhouses, losing 7-0 in both matches to No. 20 Texas A&M and No. 15 Baylor. Looking to end their season with a win, the team currently sits 9-10, 2-7 in Big 12.
Tech dominates the series over Iowa State 12-0, winning last season 5-2 in Ames, Iowa. Leading singles in the No. 1 spot is sophomore Samantha van der Drift, who also pairs with junior Janet Durham to fill the No. 1 doubles spot. Van der Drift sits in the top five of the conference at No. 1, with a 5-5 record.
Senior Lakann Wagley will be playing in her last match as a Red Raider this weekend. Wagley and former teammate Tara Browning received All-Big 12 Doubles honors in 2005 and 2006, and she also was name Academic All-Big 12 second-team both seasons as well. She currently sits second on Tech's singles career victories and doubles career victories with 77, behind Browning's 78, heading into this weekend's match.
