LUBBOCK, Texas - Three members of the Red Raider women's golf team were named National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars on Monday. The organization honored 368 student-athletes from the Division I, II and III levels.
Recognized from Texas Tech are Brynn Anderson, Megan Dowdy and Ulrika van Niekirk. Texas Tech joins Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Oklahoma as the only Big 12 schools with three student-athletes honored.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of the program's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
