Red Raider Tennis Hosts Two Friday

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team returns to the courts on Fri., Feb. 1, as they take on Lamar at 10:30 a.m. and Abilene Christian at 3:30 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
Tech began the season with a 7-0 sweep over Texas-Pan American last Saturday, with three players making their collegiate debut. Senior-transfers Lenoir Ramos and Ilya Babinciuc played in the top half of the singles lineup, filling the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively. In doubles, Ramos also paired with freshman Jeremy Reed winning 8-2 at No. 3.
The Red Raiders' No. 1 and No. 2 doubles continues to be ranked among the top in the nation. Tech's All-Big 12 duo of Bojan Szumanski and Christian Rojmar are ranked 10th in the ITA/FILA collegiate poll, while the No. 2 pair of Michael Breler and Sinisa Markovic are right behind them at No. 11.
This Friday's lineup will feature both familiar and new faces in singles and doubles action. Tech comes into the match one up on the Cardinals leading the series 4-3. This will be the 29th meeting between the Red Raiders and the Wildcats, with Tech leading 27-1.
