Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Oklahoma State University Cowboys on Saturday at the United Spirit Arena. The 1:00 PM (CT) game will be televised on ESPN. Dave Barnett will call the play-by-play. Stephen Bardo will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KKAM-AM 1340. Sirius Radio will broadcast the game on Channel 123.
The Cowboys have a 28-12 lead in the series which began on January 1, 1937. OSU leads the series 17-4 in Stillwater and 5-2 on neutral courts. Each team has six wins in Lubbock. Texas Tech and Oklahoma State are meeting for the second time this season. In their first meeting on January 12, OSU won in Stillwater,
74-55. The Cowboys held a 35-32 halftime lead. OSU's Obi Muonelo hit four of his five three-pointers in the second half as OSU scored 39 points in the second half to Tech's 23 points. Muonela led both teams in scoring with 21 points with 16 of his points scored in the second half. Martin Zeno was Texas Tech's leading scorer with 10 points.
The Red Raiders are 11-8 for the season and 2-3 in conference play. Texas Tech opened the 2007-2008 conference season with a loss on the road on January 12 to Oklahoma, 74-55. The Red Raider squad gave Coach Bob Knight his 900th career win as they dropped # 9/10 Texas A&M on January 16, 68-53. Tech lost a close game at OU, 63-61, on January 19 before topping Missouri,
92-84 at the United Spirit Arena on January 23. In their last road game, the Raiders lost at Texas, 73-47.
Martin Zeno leads the Red Raiders in scoring with 16.8 ppg. John Roberson is averaging 12.3 ppg while Alan Voskuil adds 12.0 ppg.
The Cowboys are 10-10 for the 2007-2008 season and 1-5 in Big 12 play. After OSU's season opening 74-55 home win against Texas Tech on January 12, the Cowboys have lost five games. They lost at Baylor (79-71) and at Iowa State (73-66). OSU lost at home to Texas (63-61) and to Texas A&M (59-56). On January 28, the Cowboys lost at Oklahoma, 64-61.
OSU has three players averaging double figures for the season. James Anderson tops their squad with 15.0 ppg. Terrel Harris is averaging 10.6 ppg and Marcus Dove has scored 10.4 ppg.
The Red Raiders are on the road against Baylor on Wednesday evening at 8:00 PM (CT). The game from Waco will be on ESPNU and will be shown on ESPN in the ACC territory where the Duke/UNC game will be blacked out.
After Saturday's home game, Texas Tech returns to the United Spirit Arena on Wednesday, February 13 for their 8 PM (CT) game against Kansas State.
