
Women's Tennis to Compete at ITA Southwest Regionals

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis squad heads to the campus of TCU for the ITA Southwest Regional Championships held from Oct. 23-27 for its final competition of the fall season.
The Lady Raiders begin qualifying rounds Thursday morning. Senior Samantha van der Drift and Kelsy Garland have spots in the main singles draw and all of the double teams are in the main draw as well. At last year's ITA Southwest Regional Championships, van der Drift advanced to the third round in the singles draw before losing.
Competing in this year's field will be teams from across the Southwest, including Baylor, Houston, Lamar, Louisiana State, Louisiana Lafayette, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern Methodist, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Christian, Texas State, Texas Tech, Texas-Arlington, Texas-El Paso, Texas-Pan American, and Texas-San Antonio.
Competition in the singles and doubles brackets begin each day at 9 a.m.
