- Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays will go for the 1,500th win of his 38-year career tomorrow afternoon against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The game has been moved back to 2 p.m. in order to accommodate the travel plans of the Islanders.
- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 8-0 and is now 6-0 against the Islanders at Dan Law Field.
- The Red Raiders have won three-straight games for just the second time this season. Tech's last three-game win streak included two wins over Central Arkansas and a win over Northern Illinois in early March.
- Junior right-fielder Roger Kieschnick was intentionally three times tonight and that gives him 12 for the season. He finished the night 1-for-2 with a run scored.
- Freshman catcher Monk Kreder extended his current hit streak to nine games.
- Doug Thennis' three RBIs on the night marked his seventh multiple-RBI game of the year.
- Texas Tech is now 12-4 when scoring in the first inning and 13-0 when leading after the seventh.
