Red Raiders Drop Another Five-Set Match to Oklahoma

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech took the first and third sets in its second conference matchup with Oklahoma but failed to take the important third as the Sooners won in five sets (22-25, 25-12, 21-25, 25-10, 15-12)
Tech took the lead in the first set at 12-11 and never relinquished it winning 25-22. The Red Raiders were plagued in the second set hitting only a .150 percentage losing 25-21.
Tech won the third set behind a .250 hitting percentage to win 25-21, but struggled in the fourth set falling behind early 8-2 and losing the set 25-10. In the final set, the Red Raiders were unable to overcome a five-point deficit and lost 15-10.
Three Red Raiders recorded double-digit kills as middle blocker Amanda Dowdy led the way with 16 kills. Outside hitters Becca Baldwin finished with 12 kills and Hayley Ball recorded 11 kills. Libero Jenn Harrell and defensive specialist Jackie Vincent had 13 and 12 digs respectively. The Red Raiders struggled with 17 service errors during the match.
Oklahoma was led by Suzy Boulavsky with 13 kills.
Tech will host the No. 2 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers on Wednesday starting at 7 p.m. at the United Spirit Arena.
