Red Raiders Fall to Host Arizona

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech fell to host Arizona in its third match of the Arizona Invitational, 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-17).
Tech senior's Brandi Hood and Michelle Flores led the team with six kills a piece. Flores also had a .385 attack percentage. Freshman Karlyn Meyers had seven digs, seven assists, two kills and two assisted blocks for the match.
The Red Raiders suffered from a .148 team attack percentage. Arizona's Brooke Buringrud led the Wildcats with 11 kills.
In yesterday's match against Texas State, freshman Amanda Dowdy and junior Hayley Ball led the team with six kills each. Junior Caroline Witte was all over the court as she had 11 assists, seven digs and three kills. Tech lost the match 3-0 (25-22,25-19, 25-20) to Texas State.
Texas Tech will be hosting the Red Raider Round Up starting on Sept. 12-13. Tech faces New Orleans, Texas Christian University and McNeese State at the United Spirit Arena.
