
Tech Falls to A&M in Three

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Despite 10 kills by Amanda Dowdy and Barbara Conceicao, Texas A&M used a variety of quick offensive schemes and had fewer errors to beat Texas Tech, 3-0, in Big 12 volleyball action. With the win the Aggies improve to 16-10, 9-9 on the season while the Red Raiders fall to 2-25, 0-18.
On the afternoon the Aggies hit for a .306 efficiency, led by Alisia Kastmo's seven of nine attempts (one error) for a .667 efficiency while the Red Raiders struggled to find its offensive rhythm and played uphill most of the way, hitting for only an .098 efficiency.
Only Tech's blocking game was up to par this afternoon, as the Red Raiders matched the Aggies, with 10 putbacks on the strength of Alexxa Roberts two solos and two assists, Conceicao's four assists and three more by Hayley Ball. Tory Vaughan had six digs and led Tech in the backcourt game.
Tech travels to Kansas on Tuesday, Nov. 24 before celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday and then returns home to host K-State for the Saturday finale to the 2009 season at 11:45 on Saturday, Nov. 28. It will be senior day when the careers of Hayley Ball, Jenn Goehry and Caroline Witte come to a close.
