LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech assistant coach Beth Falls (formerly Karasek) was recently named to the UIL Volleyball All-Century First Team for accomplishments earned in her stellar volleyball career as a champion prep performer at Caldwell High School. Notably, Falls and her sister, Jane Anne Karasek, both earned first-team honors.
The University Interscholastic League, as part of its Centennial Celebration, announced the UIL All-Century Volleyball Teams as they were selected by fans who cast more than 14,000 votes for their favorite volleyball players in Texas high school history.
Editor's Note
A few interesting things stand out about this list: 1) volleyball has been played in Texas for 100 years; and 2) likely not too many folks remember anyone who competed on the 1912 Caldwell HS squad and footage wasn't available (although there may be chalk drawings), so many of those athletes are likely not represented on this list.
Happy New Year, Volleyball Fans!
