Lubbock, TX - The Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-10, 1-5) travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma for their Wednesday night game against the Cowboys of Oklahoma State (13-7, 2-4). The game tips at 8 PM and can be seen on ESPNU.
Doug Bell will call the play-by-play. Rich Zvosec will provide the game analysis.
Mark Finkner will call the action on Wednesday evening against the Cowboys along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network local station Sports Radio 1340.
The Red Raiders and the Cowboys are meeting for the forty-third time since the series began on January 1, 1937. Overall, OSU leads the series 29-13. Texas Tech leads the series in Lubbock, 7-6. OSU leads the series in Stillwater, 17-4. The Cowboys lead the series on neutral courts, 6-2.
Last season, each team won on their home court. On January 12, the OSU won in Stillwater, 74-55. The Red Raiders defeated the Cowboys in Lubbock on February 2, 67-60. OSU edged Tech in the opening round of the conference championship in Kansas City, 76-72.
OSU opened conference play with a win over Texas A&M at home and then lost at Baylor and to Missouri. The Cowboys won at Nebraska in overtime (76-74) before losing to Oklahoma and at Texas A&M.
The Cowboys have five players averaging double figures for the season. James Anderson leads his squad with 17.3 points per game. Obi Muonelo follows with 15.4 points per game. Terrel Harris is averaging 14.2 points per game. Byron Eaton is scoring 13.9 points per game. Keiton Page comes off the bench to average 10.1 points per game.
Texas Tech earned their first conference victory of the 2008-2009 season with an eight-point win over Colorado (63-55) on January 20. Since then, the Red Raiders have lost two games on the road and their most recent game against Nebraska.
After leading by as many as 17 points, Nebraska held a seven-point lead at the half, 34-27. On two occasions, the Huskers led by 17 points in the second half before the Red Raiders cut the margin to five points with just over three minutes remaining. With Texas Tech fouling to stop the clock, Nebraska pushed the margin to 13 points when the game ended, 82-69.
Nebraska's Ade Dagunduro led both teams in scoring with 20 points. John Roberson paced the Red Raiders with 19 points and six assists.
Three Red Raiders are averaging double figures for the season. John Roberson is scoring 14.6 points per game. Alan Voskuil is averaging 13.5 points per game. Mike Singletary is adding 10.3 points per game.
The Red Raiders host Baylor at the United Spirit Arena on Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 PM. The game will air on the ESPNU.
