- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Kansas 26-14 and has won two-straight. The Red Raiders earned the series win with today's 7-5 decision.
- With a 9-8 record in the Big 12 Conference, Texas Tech has now matched its entire win total from all of last season and still has 10 games left on the docket. The Red Raiders now stand in sole possession of fifth place in the league standings.
- Texas Tech has won its third Big 12 series of the a season, a first for the Red Raiders since 2004.
- Senior first baseman Chris Richburg slugged his 11th home run of the season in the third inning and his fifth in Big 12 play.
- Junior Taylor Ashby is now the team's co-leader in multiple-RBI games as he earned his 11th today by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
- Texas Tech can now lay claim to a pair of series wins over ranked teams. Tech took 2-of-3 from No. 11 Texas A&M back in early April and has taken this series from No. 24 Kansas.
