LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team will find out its fate Tuesday afternoon as the NCAA Championships pairings will be announced on ESPN News, beginning at 4:20 p.m., central time.
The Red Raiders will meet at Tech's Rawls Course beginning at 4 p.m. to find out where they are going when the first and seconds rounds begin May 8-9.
Tech is coming off an opening round loss at the Big 12 Championships where Oklahoma State overcame a 3-1 deficit for the second time in a week to rally for a 4-3 win. The Red Raiders, ranked No. 34 in the country in last week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, are currently 13-11 overall and finished fifth in conference.
The Red Raiders have been selected to the NCAA Championships in three of the previous four seasons, including the 2005 squad that advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.
The NCAA Championships begin May 8-9 with the first and second rounds at host sites to be determined. The tournament concludes May 14-25 with the final pairings of the team bracket along with the singles and doubles championships.
