LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's tennis head coach Tim Siegel and assistant coach Marcelo Ferreira volunteered their time on Monday to teach tennis to kids at Murfee Elementary.
Siegel and Ferreira spent the whole day at the elementary school and demonstrated tennis skills and gave the children an opportunity to improve their tennis skills during their physical education class period.
"Murfee is a great school, and I really enjoyed working with all of the students on improving their tennis skills," said Siegel.
At the end of each class, the kids were given a Texas Tech visor and a growth chart with Raider Red on it.
Two of Siegel's children, Kate and Ellie, attend Murfee Elementary.
Giving back to the community is a big part of Red Raider tennis and giving a clinic to these elementary kids is just one way they do it.
