Red Raiders Host Tigers on Wednesday

LUBBOCK, Texas - With Big 12 Conference play underway, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-3, 0-1) host the Missouri Tigers (13-3, 1-0) on Wednesday at 8 PM.
The Red Raiders and the Tigers will be meeting for the 19th time since the series began on December 5, 1955. Overall, Missouri leads the series 10-8 and has won the last two meetings. Texas Tech leads the series at home 6-1 while Missouri leads in Columbia 6-2 and 3-0 on neutral courts.
Texas Tech completed non-conference play with twelve wins and two losses. The Red Raiders won all ten games at the United Spirit Arena and had two wins and two losses on the road.
Three Red Raiders ended non-conference play with double-digit scoring averages. Mike Singletary led the squad with 15.8 points per game. John Roberson averaged 13.9 points per game and David Tairu added 12.2 points each game.
Missouri ended their non-conference play with 12 wins and 3 losses. The Tigers were 10-0 at home, 0-2 on the road, and 2-1 on neutral courts.
Texas Tech lost their opening conference game to Oklahoma State in Stillwater on Saturday evening, 81-52.
The Raiders jumped out to a strong start and led near the midpoint of the first half, 16-12. With 11:03 left to play in the half, Oklahoma State's James Anderson began a scoring streak and finished the first half with 25 points as the Cowboys posted a 44-27 halftime lead.
Texas Tech couldn't get on track in the second as OSU padded their lead enroute to their 81-52 win.
Mike Singletary led Texas Tech in scoring with 13 points. David Tairu was the only other Red Raider in double figures with 10 points.
OSU's James Anderson posted 25 points in the first half and finished the game with 28 points. Obi Muonelo and Ray Penn each added 12 points for the Cowboys.
Missouri hosted No. 10 Kansas State in the conference opener in Columbia at Saturday. The Tigers defeated the Wildcats 74-68. Zaire Taylor and Marcus Denmon each scored 14 points and Laurence Bowers added 13 points for the Tigers.
Wednesday's game against Missouri will be televised on ESPNU. Carter Blackburn will deliver the play-by-play. LaPhonso Ellis will provide the game analysis.
On the radio, Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network flagship station Double T 104.3.
The Red Raiders are at Kansas on Saturday and then back in the United Spirit Arena on Wednesday, January 20, against the Iowa State Cyclones.
