On what opened up the three -point shooting
We have a lot of plays when teams run zone and Georgia Southern didn't want to guard our motion offense and that's what opened a lot of shots at perimeter.
On how Javarez (Willis) played
It's a big confidence booster for him. We need him down in the stretch, especially, when we play conference games. If he keeps hitting shots like he did tonight, then he will be really good for us.
On how you (David Tairu) played
Well, I was letting the game come to me. I drove from the wing it opened up a lot for me. In the previous games I didn't really shoot any three's so a lot of my points came from the free-throw line and in the paint. Tonight I tried to drive to the basket and just let the game come to me and it worked.
Javarez (Bean) Willis
On his game
I was more comfortable tonight. The coaches told me to be patient and just be myself because I haven't been shooting very well. I went out tonight and just played basketball.
On guarding John Roberson and other seniors in practice
I can tell you it's tough to guard John in practice everyday. It was a reality check coming from high school, but I'm picking up on it and I'm getting better defensively. Wwatching film has helped me a a great deal."
On the tournament in South Padre
I'm excited to be going to (South) Padre. There are some tough schools, and it's going to be an exciting tournament."
On gaining confidence from three consecutive wins
Yes, losing leaves a bad taste in your mouth and you want to get that taste out as soon as possible . So, for us to win these three games it's a confidence booster."
Texas Tech Head Coach Pat Knight
On being happy with the start I was happy with the start but then after 10 minutes we relaxed when we could've got a better lead. But our start was much better than what it has been.
On making free throws tonight
Hitting free-throws was a big confidence boost for us tonight. It's a big part of our offense, and now they have more confidence especially going into the Thanksgiving tournament this week.
On underclassmen having a good game
John started out hot, and Bean got his shot back and you need that against a zone. You can come up with all these great zone defenses, but you have to hit your shots. Tonight, we hit our shots. Mike Davis has been solid every game. Jaye Crockett had some good moments tonight , and he's learning very quickly.
On the South Padre Island Tournament
Yes, I'm really excited, and the players are looking forward to the trip and playing in a different setting. It's going to be a good tournament, and the SPI hosts do an excellent job with their event.
