Wickett Named Big 12 Player of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior forward Teena Wickett was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 20-24.
The Vallejo, Calif., native Wickett was named MVP of the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic after recording game highs of 16 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists in Texas Tech's win over California last Monday (Dec. 20). The four steals tied her career high. Six of her points came from the free throw line where she was a perfect 6-for-6. Wickett saw 33 minutes of action against the Bears. The classic was a two-day tournament with the first game coming in the previous week as the Lady Raiders beat Pittsburgh on Dec. 19.
Wickett shared the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week honors with Toni Young of Oklahoma State, while Odyssey Sims of Baylor of was the Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week.
The honor is the first for any Lady Raider this season.
