LUBBOCK, Texas - Senior Rosalyn Kim was named to the All-Tournament team for the second year in a row as she led Texas Tech to a fifth place finish in the 2010 Big 12 Conference Women's Golf Championship in Norman, Okla. this afternoon.
The Lady Raiders came into the final round sitting in seventh place but used a final round score of 304 to bypass Kansas State and Colorado for a spot in the top five.
"I was really proud of our girls today," said Tech head coach JoJo Robertson. "This team has fought back all year and I think that showed once again. Rosalyn did just as a senior should all tournament with her consistent play. We will definitely miss her next season but I know the future for Texas Tech women's golf is so bright with these young ones."
Kim played in her last conference tournament as a Lady Raider, placing seventh overall after recording a 75 in the final round. She finished the tournament 7-over par en route to consecutive conference all-tournament selections in 2009 and 2010.
Freshman Gabby Dominguez barely missed her fifth top-10 finish of the year as she recorded a 73 (1-over) in the final round to finish 11th place overall in her first conference tournament appearance.
Junior Alex Gibson totaled a 79 in today's round to end the tournament tied for 30th while freshman Kim Kaufman shot a 77 (5-over) to finish tied for 35th in the individual standings. Freshman Beverly Mendoza rounded out the scoring for Tech in 49th place.
Texas A&M used a final round score of 296 and an 896 combined total to come from behind in third place and earn the 2010 Big 12 Championship as Oklahoma State took silver by one stroke followed by Texas in third place with a 905.
