NORMAN, Okla. - Awards continue to pour in for the Texas Tech men's tennis program as assistant coach Marcelo Ferreira was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the Texas Region.
Ferreira, who hails from Sao Paul, Brazil, is in his third year as head coach Tim Siegel's assistant coach.
"It's a great honor and well deserved," stated Siegel. "Marcelo has done an outstanding job for me both on the court and in recruiting for me. He is easily one of the best assistant coaches in the country."
Besides assisting the Red Raiders on the courts, Ferreira is also one of the top recruiters in the nation, traveling to his native Brazil to sign five of the top Brazilians in the country, while also assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program.
