Raony Carvalho Wins Third Pro Doubles Title

Raony Carvalho won his third professional doubles title as an amateur.

Fernandópolis, Brazil - Texas Tech senior Raony Carvalho, competing as an amateur, won his third professional tournament of the fall, as he won the doubles championship at the ITF Futures TNT Tennis Cup held at the Casa de Portugal de Fernandópolis.
Carvalho teamed with Fabricio Neis to go 4-0 at the event, en route to the tournament title. The duo entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed. It is the first time that Carvalho had been seeded in a professional event. Carvalho has also now won three professional doubles titles with three different doubles partners - Neis, Fabiano De Paula and Marcio Torres.
Since taking the semester off to compete on the ITF Futures Tour, Carvalho has seen his world ranking fall from 1,409 to 632 in doubles and 1,355 to 894 in singles.
Carvalho, the only All-American in Red Raider history, was named 2012 ITA Texas Region Player to Watch.
