CHICAGO (AP) - Christine Hyde scored 18 points to lead No. 15 Texas Tech to a 70-64 win over Illinois on Saturday.
The Lady Raiders made 26 of 37 free throws to hang on against Illinois (4-6). Karisma Penn scored 12 points and Alex Burke had 11 for the Illini.
The Lady Raiders forced 18 turnovers. Texas Tech (9-0) is ranked the highest in the AP poll since they opened the 2005 season at No. 13 and fell to No. 14 on Nov. 21, 2005.
