Casey Morris had a career performance at the United Spirit Arena on Wednesday night as Texas Tech defeated UT-Arlington, 88-48. Morris had a career high 24 points. She scored 22 of those points in the first half, which was one shy of her previous career-high, set against Texas A&M last season on Feb. 5.
"I think the game was just coming to me," Morris said after the game. "They were leaving me open so I was taking shots just like any other game. It was good for them to leave me open I guess because I was knocking it down whenever I got it."
The guard was 6-of-10 behind the three-point arc, which was also a career high.
"When you're a Division I athlete and you're open you have to be able to knock down shots and she can do that," added Lady Raider head coach Kristy Curry. "I thought she did a great job tonight and she has been doing a great job and I thought she did a great job of letting the game come to her and anytime they are open we want them to look to shoot and she did a great job and I'm really happy for her."
Morris was also perfect behind the free-throw line. The junior contributed defensively as well with two offensive and two defensive rebounds. She finished the night with two assists, one block and four steals, and played 31 minutes.
