- Tech's two wins Wednesday evened the all-time series between the two schools as New Mexico had previously held a 16-14 lead in the series.
- Prior to Jessica Garcia's home run in the sixth, Kelsey Dennis had previously gone 19.2-consecutive innings without allowing a run. The streak spanned her last three outings.
- Sandy James went a combined 4-for-5 at the plate Wednesday, driving in eight runs off two home runs while scoring three runs. Her eight RBIs were the most for a Tech player in a doubleheader since Logan Hall drove in eight runs total on back-to-back days, Feb. 25-26, against Northern Illinois and St. John's.
- Mikey Kenney recorded her 10th multiple-hit game of the year after finishing 2-for-4 at the plate. She also stole two bases to go along with her Big 12-leading 12th double of the year to leadoff the game.
- Tech's five runs were its fewest since a 5-3 victory over St. John's on Feb. 25 in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic. The Red Raiders have scored at least four runs in every game this season.
- Kermitria Ward became the first Tech pitcher to earn saves in consecutive games since Hillary Phillips did so on Feb. 28 last year against UT-Arlington and Wichita State. Ward has not allowed a run in her last 10.1 innings which stretches seven different outings.
