DENVER, Colo. - No. 34 Texas Tech extended its winning streak to five straight with a 7-0 win over the University of Denver at the Denver Country Club Friday night.
"We beat a very improved Denver team tonight under some tough conditions," said Lady Raider head coach Todd Petty. "I am proud of our focus, but we now focus on a tough weekend ahead in Las Vegas against three Top 50 teams."
The Lady Raiders will return to action next weekend in Las Vegas, where they will face No. 37 UNLV, No. 42 Utah and No. 47 Long Beach State.
Against Denver, the Lady Raiders took two of three doubles matches to secure the double point. Elizabeth Ullathorne and Rashmi Teltumbde won No. 2 doubles, while Caroline Stark and Nikki Sanders won at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Teltumbde, Samantha Adams, Starck, Sanders and Kenna Kilgo won in straight sets, while Ullathorne defeated Sophia Bergner, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
